FIRST PLACE  – $1,000

SECOND PLACE – $750

THIRD PLACE – $500

 

The three winners will be presented as soloists with the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra in a special concert under the baton of maestro Ariel Rudiakov, on Saturday, May 9th at 3:00 PM, at Saunders Trades and Technical High School; 183 Palmer Road, Yonkers, NY 10701.

ELIGIBILITY:     

  • High School Students (grades 9 through 12) who are residents of Westchester County.

 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS  (MAXIMUM 15 MINUTES):        

  •  Instrumental contestants should be prepared to perform a complete concerto from the standard orchestral repertoire.
  • Vocal contestants should be prepared to perform three arias of contrasting styles (e.g. lively vs. sustained) from the standard oratorio or operatic repertoire.                      
  • It is preferable that students be able to perform their selection(s) from memory.
  • Please ensure that orchestra parts and score are easily available or be prepared to pay the rental fee.
  •  Contestants are required to provide their own accompanist.

  •  Please ensure that the applicant’s name is the same as the name on the audition materials.
  •  Fee is waived only for Yonkers residents
  • Application fee due with submission.

 

AUDITION DATES:

  • Preliminary auditions will be done electronically. Applicants must electronically submit a sample of their work which does not exceed 15 minutes. Please submit materials to arudiakov@yonkersphilharmonic.org, no later than Monday, March 2nd 2026
  • Finalists will be notified by Friday, March 5th.
  • Concert of Finalists / Final Audition: 7pm Thursday, March 19, 2026, Hoff-Barthelson School
